Navigator Platform and Tools
Navigator for Learners
Pathways: Individual pathways are dynamically updated based on the learner's performance as they progress through a course. Navigator suggests learning activities to fortify concepts, build confidence, and achieve mastery.
Full-Spectrum of Activities: Learning pathways consist not only of digital activities but also offline activities including, individual and group projects, essays, proofs, and presentations to fill gaps and deepen knowledge. Interactions with the wide variety of activities, resources, and formative assessments helps to dynamically locate the learner's knowledge, skills, and mindsets.
Instructor Support: Learners receive personalized interventions from instructors and additional curated learning activities suggested by Navigator to help them reach their learning destination.
Take Agency and Track: Learners track their performance over time and take agency of their learning by setting learning goals, reviewing their progress, making decisions in their learning journey, and planning their study.
Data Privacy: Navigator complies with California's Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA) not just for students in California, but for all learners no matter their age or location.
Navigator for Instructors
Monitor: Navigator provides performance overviews of classes and detailed data-dashboards with real-time data of where each learner is so instructors can understand their learners, make data informed decisions, and personalize interventions.
Facilitate: Instructors can upload their own content or search Navigator's extensive curated catalog of resources aligned with curriculum standards and organize resources and questions into collections and assessments for use in the classroom. Navigator also offers instructors detailed rubrics to score complex assignments, like discussions, projects, and proofs.
Suggestions: Navigator suggests curated activities based on a learner’s performance and preferences. Instructors can assign the curated suggested learning activities or their own to an individual, small groups, or the whole class.
Go Live Assessments: Instructors can check learners’ understanding with Navigator's Go Live Assessments feature to see how each learner answers each question in real-time. Based on performance, instructors can reteach the concept, provide peer support, or small-group instruction.
locates each learner — their current knowledge, skills and mindsets.
curates learning activities that are used to personalize learning pathways.
mediates learning journey with suggestions of routes based on profile and reroutes based on their performance.
facilitates instructional practices where teachers can monitor learners’ progress and differentiate instruction.
integrates communities of practice among learners and educators so they support each other by sharing their practices, content, and answering each others questions.
Navigator Library
Catalog: Gooru’s current library has 4M+ resources with 15k+ collections and assessments, which is continually expanding.
Framework: Navigator includes a competency framework for math, science, english language arts, and social studies for US K-12. These competencies are crosswalked to state and national standards and content providers verify the competency model and the crosswalks for their subjects and standards. Content providers can develop new competencies for post-secondary education, skills training, or professional learning, develop diagnostic assessments, as well as align and tag their existing curriculum to competency frameworks.
Structure Learning and Organize Content: For every discipline of learning, collaborators can collaborate with Gooru to develop a competency framework complete with Learning Maps. Existing curriculum can then be aligned to the competency framework to enable the navigation experience. A full-spectrum of learning activities can be organized as collections and assessments Learning activities and resources are organized into lessons with formative assessments to enable learners to gain proficiency in the related competencies.
Variety of Question Types: Navigator supports free-response questions and offline projects scored using instructor or student rubrics, as well as multiple-choice, multiple answers, fill in the blank, drag and drop, and true or false questions that can be used as part of collections or assessments.
Usage and Efficacy: Content providers can monitor the reach and efficacy of their curriculum with Navigator's real-time data dashboards. They gain insights into the type of user and context in which their curriculum is effectively used.
Mission Control
Learning Gains: Leaders across the learning ecosystem from principals to program coordinators, education secretaries to content providers, superintendents to CEOs can monitor the learning gains of their cohorts. Through a variety of reports with restricted, permission based access and anonymized data, administrators can plan their support to accelerate learning outcomes.
Competency Framework and Catalog: Collaborators can get an overview of all their competency frameworks and how the learners are performing in them. They also get a deep understanding with the usage of their content within the ecosystem.
Research: Researchers from a variety of fields and interests, including but not limited to data science, learning sciences, education, and cognitive sciences use Mission Control to view their research in action and adapt and iterate as the data come in. They can develop and test their curricular interventions across education and skills, implement algorithms for reinforcement learning, or validate their hypotheses about learner mindsets.
